Professor Bradford Hudson, Ph.D
Associate Professor, Boston College
President, Brand Heritage Institute

Bradford (Brad) Hudson is Associate Professor of the Practice of Marketing at Boston College. He is also Assistant Chair of the Marketing Department in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, which is currently ranked among the top five undergraduate business schools by BusinessWeek. He holds a Ph.D. in business history from Boston University and a certificate in strategy from Harvard Business School. Professor Hudson is recognized globally for his expertise on the concept of brand heritage, which suggests that the historic status of older companies is often explicitly linked to their brand identity and consumer appeal. He has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals such as European Journal of Marketing and Corporate Communications, and quoted by numerous media sources including CNBC and USA Today. His prior consulting clients with historic brands include AT&T, Cadbury Schweppes, Cunard, Harley Davidson, and Nestlé. Professor Hudson also has a deep understanding of the hotel industry. He was previously a marketing professor for over a decade in the School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University, he holds a master’s degree in services marketing from the Cornell Hotel School, and he started his business career as a manager with Four Seasons Hotels. Several years ago, he received a Fulbright Fellowship to study brand heritage at the historic château hotels of Canada, which are now operated by Fairmont. Shortly thereafter, he received high ratings as a speaker at the Historic Hotels of America 2011 Annual Conference in Cincinnati. For more information, please contact bradford.hudson@bc.edu.
